July 18, 2014 is a special day for my cousin Dustin and his new wife Dakota. It was this day they chose to married for time and all eternity in the Manti Temple. It was a beautiful ceremony. A little bit of advice/counsel that the sealer gave specifically to the couple that stands out in my mind is to always remember each other and to pray together every single day. Simple but profound. Easily taken for granted. Questions that have come to mind since the ceremony: Why is it significant to pray as a couple/family? What blessings come from exercising faith in Christ and praying together? How can increased faith in the Savior help married couples strengthen their relationship with one another? In what ways do married couples work together to strengthen their faith in the Savior?
I came across this quote from President Hinckley as I was looking stuff up:
"Somehow the little storms that seem to afflict every marriage are dissipated when, kneeling before the Lord, you thank him for one another, in the presence of one another, and then together invoke his blessings upon your lives, your home, your loved ones, and your dreams.
"God then will be your partner, and your daily conversations with him will bring peace into your hearts and joy into your lives that can come from no other source. Your companionship will sweeten through the years; your love will strengthen. Your appreciation for one another will grow" (in Conference Report, Apr. 1971, 83; or Ensign, June 1971, 72).
