The Dentist Saga Continues...
I wanted this to be my last dental story of the year. I was supposed to be all caught up after today's visit, but here's how the story goes....
I spent Monday day with Justin. First, he showed me how to hit a golf ball for about 1 1/2 to 2 hours. For my first time golfing ever (minus a mini golfing event once before in my life) it went okay. I'll have to give it a second chance and see if I can get the hang of it a little better. We had a picnic dinner at first dam, watched Star Trek in the theatres and then strolled along the Logan River Walk for a good two hours. It was a good day! Thank you Justin!
Then I headed off to work at the hospital. It was a busy night! All my normal shift work was done by 1230. I had a moments rest till we admitted another patient at 0100. This patient was belligerent, demanding, aggressive and no fun to work with. We loaded him up on meds that didn't seem to touch him. He just wouldn't fall asleep! About 0430 another patient woke up and became increasingly agitated, demanding and upset. Shift change at 0700 the oncoming staff and night nurse went in for report and I was left alone at the desk. Construction people were coming in and out. I had two agitated, entitled, demanding patients and was literally exhausted myself from lack of sleep. We called a code manpower, gave the shots and I got out of there as soon as I could. I enjoy my work for the most part, but this morning was terrible.
After this crazy night, I stopped by my old apartment to pick up some mail and crashed there for a few hours. I set my alarm for 1115, thinking that would give me plenty of time to make it to my appointment by noon. However my appointment was at 11:00 am. At 11:10 the dentist office called to ask if I was coming. So I hurried over to the office. They placed the permanent crown on and I had to make another appointment for Thursday. If all goes according to plan, this will be the last appointment until the next cleaning.
