A Few Last Hurrahs for Summer

With the first week of school down, I'm just now reflecting on the whirlwind of events from the past several weeks (thanks to Shantel's request).  Aug 15 was our orientation at the WSU campus.  Following that, Tom took me to Antelope Island where we explored the historical ranch, had a picnic dinner and walked out to the GSL.  Our tour guide at the Ranch was incredible.  He talked us into starting what he called a "life list".  A list in which we keep track of all the birds we see during our lifetime :) oh dear.  On the 19th, Tom drove up to Corinne, made a surprisingly amazing pasta dish he learned from his Italian companion and then he took me golfing.

Aug 24, Tyson, Shelana, Beth, Emily, Nicole, Landon, Carson and I had breakfast with Tom at a park in Orem and then spent the rest of the day at Seven Peaks.  What a fun day!  It was nice to spend time together although the weather didn't cooperate in the later afternoon/evening time.

I had been home from Seven Peaks about 15 min when the pager went off.  PI accident on I-15.  Drunk driver who rear-ended someone.  Luckily, no one was hurt badly, but it could have been terrible!

Last but not least, Aug 25th, Carson was ordained to a deacon.  Words cannot begin to describe the wonderful blessings that will come as he begins his journey as a priesthood holder.  We're proud of you Carson and your decision!
