Mormon Miracle Weekend is a tradition we started last year - 2012. Shelana, Shantel and I took a trip to Manti to see the pageant and we stayed with our Aunt Tanie and family. It was all sorts of fun. Playing "two truths and a lie" while waiting in line for the turkey dinner; Tanie getting a huge carry out box of turkey; chocolate covered strawberries, temple session that morning; best part was just spending time together.
Well, we decided to go again this year.,,,whoohooo!!!
Grandma and I - This picture was the day before. Grandma had just been to the cardiologist and we decided to stay at McKay Dee and have lunch. They have such a beautiful campus. We ate our lunch outside!
Here we are, getting ready to put the car in gear and go!
Chocolate Covered Strawberries - Yummy!
Manti Temple
With Brigham Young (from the pageant)
Isn't the temple gorgeous all lit up?!
Tanie wanted her hair pulled back - so we did this to it. Not bad huh?
This year, Tanie took us to Cove Fort. It was an amazing experience. It was neat to learn about the fort, but the most beautiful part was our tour guide sharing her conversion story with us. She was baptized into the church 40 something years ago. Absolutely amazing story. We were captivated as she shared about the many challenges she faced and how everything fell into place and she and her family had been blessed for her righteous decisions ever since. At the end of the tour, she took Nicole, had her close her eyes, spin around 3 times and then point. Documentation - Nicole pointed to the Finnish Book of Mormon. Maybe someday Nicole will serve a mission there? If not, we predicted Nicole will meet Finnish people on her mission.
Tanie had made sandwiches for us before we left on Saturday morning. They accidently were left in the fridge, she we stopped at one of her favorite places apparently. (Inside joke: 3+5=8! Tanie asked the clerk if she could order a place with 5 rolled tacos. In the next breath she asked if he could do 8. The clerk, a little flustered said pointing to the ordering options, "You can order a plate of 3, 5 or 12. Three plus five equals eight." It was hilarious.
St. George.
Dixie Rebels semi pro football. David and Dillon play for the Rebels. This was the championship game. It was so fun to watch! We were all a little disappointed though they didn't win. It was close. 28-31.
After the game, Tanie took a to a place called Iceberg. We all ordered a shake. They were huge!
Tanie's favorite pastime. Taking pictures, especially of the temple!
I'm exhausted as I write this. Just got back to grandma's a few hours ago. It really was such a nice weekend that went by way too fast! We crammed a lot in those 2 days! Looking forward to doing it again in the future!
