Last weekend at work...normal routine, set things up for the delivery we were expecting, held the little one that was already there, etc. When delivery was imminent the charge nurse called me from the nursery to come in for the delivery. It was about 9:30 am and the mom had been in labor for since about 3 that morning. I was so focused on making sure that I had everything all ready for the delivery I didn't even look at the mom. I just wanted to make sure I hadn't forgotten anything! After the baby was delivered, we've got him all cleaned up and back to mom, the parents of the mom wanted to be let out of L&D (it's a lock down unit). The lady recognized me. It was Vicki from my hometown ward! Then she said to me, "Did you know that was Carlee in there?" I had no idea! Carlee was her daughter and we went through all of young women's together and were good friends in high school! I couldn't believe I didn't recognize her! I wasn't even paying attention. We had a good laugh and chat after that! (Sad thing...she knew exactly who I was and recognized me immediately) Next crazy thing....she is my boss's daughter in law! So random.
Third strange thing-random meeting- this weekend. Went to the Brigham YSA ward for the first time. Sat through all of sacrament and Sunday school. In the 3rd meeting (combined P & RS), three random guys come and sit down next to me. One of the boys was Blair (I didn't recognize him until after he said my named and asked me what I was doing there). Blair is someone else I went to high school with and graduated with! What are the odds? Someone else from Malad?
No matter where I go, seems I always meet someone from Malad or someone who knows someone from Malador currently living in Malad.
Idaho ain't just famous for potatoes, we're famous for Malad too!
