The Dentist Saga Continues...

Today's appointment receives a 4/10. Why so low? I'll tell you - I walked out of that office so discouraged! I felt like a bad person who can't take care of her teeth very well. Today was only a cleaning...which I would say, if all dentist appointments were cleanings then life would be great, however no such luck for me.

They discovered two more small, and I would like to point out small, cavities on my front bottom teeth. The dentist commented that it is unusual to see decay in these front teeth. They mentioned some "breakage" (whatever that means in dental slang) on some of the upper teeth on the left side. They also pointed out decalcification along my back three teeth on both sides. The dentist said I seem to have "soft teeth". He very kindly gave me some fluoride toothpaste (free of charge as long as I used it). I was instructed to use religiously twice a day by both the dentist and hygienist. We set up five (5) more appointments that span the next two months. On the last appointment they would like to do a fluoride treatment. I'm not sure exactly what the treatment entails but the hygienist pointed out to me that it will not be covered by the insurance. Oh well.

Next appointment is March 31.
