Justin left Coeur d'Alene for the summer and headed for Malad to spend his birthday with the Tavoian's. The journey to Malad was a little bumpy...for further details contact Justin personally.
August 21, 2008 --Happy Birthday Justin! The day began at 7:00 am as we headed up the canyon to go horseback riding! Tahsha's bishop, Bishop Wray, let us borrow his horses for the morning. The stubborn horses wouldn't follow the road up the canyon but decided to embark on the somewhat rough terrain of the nearby steep hillside. From there the horses found an old cow trail along the barbwire fence that we followed for a little bit until the horses decided they didn't want to go any further, so we turned around. The horses were anxious and determined to return home so after a good two hour ride we took the horses home.
Since the morning was still early we decided to go for a ride up the canyon. We ended up going for a good hour and half hike.
After we worked up an appetite with all this hiking we went into town for lunch at a local restaurant called The Dude Ranch Cafe. After relaxing for a while we started on Justin's birthday dinner. Thanks to Shantel and Heather for all their help in preparing this meal! and Thanks to Justin for cooking his own steak!
For dinner we had steak, shrimp cocktail, baked potato, green salad, homemade dinner rolls, watermelon, cantelope and honey-dew melon mixed together.
The birthday cake : German Chocolate Cake & Mint Chocolate Chip Ice Cream to go with it.
The birthday cake - count closely, there really are 26 candles in the top of that cake.
Below: Notice that I moved the cake away from Justin to make it a little more difficult to blow out the candles however this did not stop him.
He stood up and got as close as he could to the cake!

Tahsha- i love you because of the way you take care of my brother, and I also love the way that you are--even though I have only know you through a few visits. However, I'd have to say the Idaho get together was long lasting. What a fabulous day you put together for him! Thank you thank you! You are amazing! Good luck at school. Talk to you soon.
Now that I looked at other posts in your blog you helped with lots of birthdays lately! What a fun big family! you definitely know the meaning of work around your house I bet.
